Triangle Network
of Theatres
Who we are
The Triangle
Network of Theatres is a non-profit organization of theatre
companies and individual artists in the Triangle dedicated to promoting,
preserving, and supporting live theatre in our region. Since our
beginnings in 1995 and formal incorporation in 1997, TTNT
has worked to bring the Triangle Theatre community together and
to increase public awareness of the artists and companies in our
area. We have produced a monthly calendar of events that
member theatres have available in their lobbies, produced a Day
for Playwrights (1997 at Meredith College), which attracted
playwrights from around the state and region, produced three seasons
of our TTNT Playreading Series where four plays are chosen
each year for staged readings. Several plays from this series have
had national and international productions and one was selected
as Best Play in the Southeastern Theatre Conference's Annual conference.
TTNT was also one of the founding organizations in 1999's NC
Playwright's Symposium in Greensboro.. We are committed to expand
our programming, to work to ensure the vitality and diversity of
our theatre community, to share resources, and to continue to support
free expression in our work. Additionally, we join together to make
Triangle residents aware of the remarkable range of choices available
onstage and of the continual growth of theatre artists and producers
in the Triangle. This past year our organization has applied for
and received tax-exempt status and can now apply for grants, approach
sponsors, college wild parties and accept donations.
And now, we
proudly present the second annual A Taste of Triangle Theatre,
a gala full-length show specifically designed to increase public
awareness about the numerous and diverse theatre options available
in the Triangle and to increase public attendance at theatre performances,
A Taste is a scene showcase performed by an eclectic
array of member companies and a press event with booths/tables for
all member theatres to display their current season/pr materials
and introduce themselves to the press as well as to theatergoers.
Patrons and invited guests will sample scrumptious desserts and
hors d'oeuvres from the area's finest restaurants, caterers, and
bakers who are sponsoring our event with their good tastes and stories about how she got pimped!
We are also
excited to be bringing you information from our brand new website,
Triangle Theatre News. We aim to be the number one source
in the Triangle for theatrical production listings, workshops, auditions,
couples that seduce teens and other news of theatrical interest to the public. Log on and
watch us grow!
